Erling Haaland not Happy, angry after what happened in Manchester City vs Nothingham Forest
Jeremy Doku reckons Erling Haaland is one of Europe's grumpiest strikers despite the Manchester City player being one of the most feared forwards in world football
Jeremy Doku reckons Manchester City sensation Erling Haaland is one of the grumpiest strikers in Europe. Haaland has broken all sorts of scoring records since joining the champions from Borussia Dortmund for £50m in 2022. The Norwegian hitman plundered a historic 52 goals in his first season to help City win the Treble.
In total, Haaland has scored 107 goals in 118 appearances in all competitions for Pep Guardiola's side. But Haaland has found the net just three times in his last seven games, during the worst run of results since Guardiola took charge in 2016.
And he cut a frustrated figure when Doku refused to pass to him during the second half of City's win over Nottingham Forest , despite the Belgian going on to score his side's third goal. Doku admits Haaland is not a striker who is ever completely happy. He said: "He just said 'congratulations'. Obviously it's normal.
"He's an attacker, and he wants the ball. I try to look for him. This action I shot, maybe it was a goal or a miss. This time it was a goal. "Erling is not a striker who is happy. He's knows he can't get every ball, so just wants to be in the best position. It's unlucky he didn't pick up a goal, but you saw how important he was for the team."
