German President to arrive in Nigeria today for state visit.

President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany will arrive in Nigeria on Tuesday, December 10, for a two-day state visit, as announced by the German Embassy in Nigeria. In a statement, the Embassy confirmed that President Steinmeier will meet with Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, Alieu Omar Touray.

Following his time in Abuja, Steinmeier will travel to Lagos, where he will engage with business leaders, visit a start-up hub, and meet with representatives from Nigeria's cultural and civil society sectors.

The visit will be accompanied by a delegation of CEOs and senior executives from some of Germany's leading companies in the fields of IT, high-tech, and energy, highlighting the growing interest of German businesses in investment opportunities in Nigeria. The Embassy's statement emphasized that the visit underscores Nigeria's importance as a political, economic, and cultural partner for Germany in Africa.
