Nigerian football legend Mutiu Adepoju believes Victor Osimhen has the potential to surpass Rashidi Yekini’s record as the Super Eagles' all-time leading goal scorer. Yekini, a former Vitoria Setubal striker, currently holds the record with 37 goals, while Osimhen, with 23 goals, is tied for second place alongside the iconic Segun Odegbami.

Adepoju expressed confidence that the 25-year-old striker could surpass his former teammate’s achievement. “Osimhen has everything needed to break Yekini’s record,” Adepoju told SuperSport. “He’s a highly dedicated player who gives his all for the national team, so it’s definitely possible for him to set a new record.”
