IBF Heavyweight Champion Daniel Dubois to Take on Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia After Anthony Joshua Declines Rematch
British heavyweight boxing champion Daniel Dubois is set to defend his IBF world title against Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia on February 22. The 27-year-old will return to the ring in Riyadh after a stunning first defense of his IBF belt against Anthony Joshua.
Dubois, nicknamed "The Dynamite," delivered a knockout victory over his British rival in five rounds at Wembley Stadium in September. Although a rematch with Joshua was anticipated, efforts to arrange it were declined by Joshua's camp.
Parker, a 32-year-old New Zealander, previously held the WBO title from 2016 to 2018 before losing to Joshua in a unanimous decision. Last year, Parker defeated former WBC champion Deontay Wilder in a major upset and went on to claim the WBO interim title by beating Zhilei Zhang in March.
