Nigerian Senate have confirmed the appointment of Oluyede as Chief of Army Staff

The Senate, on December 3, approved the appointment of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Army Staff.

This confirmation came after the Senate Committee on Army, chaired by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua (Katsina Central), presented its report. The upper chamber unanimously adopted the committee's recommendations.

Lieutenant General Oluyede had been serving as the acting Chief of Army Staff following the illness and eventual passing of his predecessor, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
