CHAN 2025Q: Austin Eguavoen called 30 Players for Ghana Clash (FULL LIST)
Super Eagles Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has called up 30 home-based players to camp as part of the Nigeria Football Federation's efforts to secure qualification for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The 8th edition of CHAN, a tournament exclusively for players in domestic leagues with standard contracts, is set to take place in February 2025 across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Among the invited players are veteran Kano Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali, who has scored eight goals this season, Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Rivers United defender Steven Mayo, and Abia Warriors forward Sunday Megwo. Other notable selections include Enyimba FC goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena, Remo Stars wing-back Ismail Sadiq, Enugu Rangers midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye, and Nasarawa United forward Anas Yusuf.
The squad will report to camp at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, to prepare for the first leg of their CHAN qualification tie against Ghana’s Black Stars B. The match is scheduled for Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The return leg will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, December 28.
