Injured Victor Boniface ruled out for rest of 2024
Bayer Leverkusen and Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has been ruled out for the rest of the year due to injury. The 23-year-old suffered a muscle fiber tear in his right thigh during the Super Eagles' 2-1 home loss to Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Monday, November 18. He missed training on Thursday after returning from international duty.
It has now been confirmed that Boniface will not feature for the Bundesliga leaders until 2025. Last season, the striker was out for about three months with an adductor injury sustained during Nigeria's preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
So far this season, he has scored eight goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen.
