This may be my last season with Manchester City - De Bruyne reveals
Manchester City captain and midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has suggested this could be his final season with the club. The Belgian star’s contract expires at the end of the season, and discussions over a renewal were paused after he suffered a thigh injury in September. Manager Pep Guardiola noted that the injury affected De Bruyne’s mindset regarding his future.
In a recent press conference, De Bruyne addressed the situation, saying, “At the start of the season, I expected contract talks, but after the injury against Brentford, I put that on hold. I thought I’d be out for a few days, but it turned into eight or nine weeks. Right now, my focus is on returning to play, and everything else can wait.”
He added, “I’m not overly concerned. I’m happy and just want to get back to playing football. If talks happen, great. If not, this will be my last year. My priority is to perform well on the pitch.”
