A notorious Nigerian human trafficker, John Ogais, also known as "Rambo," accused of torturing and killing migrants, has died by suicide in an Italian prison. Local media reported that Ogais took his life after assaulting and injuring four prison wardens on September 16, 2024. Ogais was arrested in 2017 for his involvement in a gang that trafficked migrants from Libya to Italy and subjected them to torture, r@pe, and m*rder. Authorities apprehended him at the Cara 'Santa' Anna shelter in Isola Capo Rizzuto, Calabria, after being identified by migrants who arrived on Italy's Lampedusa island. Survivors recounted how Ogais, known as 'Rambo,' had beaten two Nigerian migrants to d£ath. One of the victims, a minor, was killed in front of his brother, who was forced to watch. Witnesses described how Ogais and his associates tortured migrants using electric shocks and beatings with rubber tubes.
