Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team has filed a motion seeking the identities of the individuals accusing him in his sex trafficking case. In a letter addressed to a Manhattan federal court judge, Combs’ lawyers argued that knowing the names of the alleged victims is crucial for adequately preparing for his trial, scheduled for May 5, 2025.

"This case stands out due to the number of people making allegations against Mr. Combs, largely because of his fame, wealth, the publicity surrounding a previously settled lawsuit, and leaks from the grand jury along with false, inflammatory statements by DHS agents, as noted in our earlier motion," the letter, signed by attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, stated, according to Variety.

They added that these factors have led to a flood of anonymous allegations, ranging from false to completely absurd. The motion appears to reference a lawsuit filed on November 16, 2023, by Combs' ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, accusing him of physical abuse, rape, and sex trafficking. Although that case was settled the next day, it prompted further legal action from others, both women and men, alleging abuse by Combs.

The legal team also pointed to six additional sexual assault lawsuits recently filed by anonymous individuals. "Counsel for these accusers held a press conference, claiming to represent 120 individuals with extreme and damaging allegations, including violent sexual assault and the abuse of minors," Combs’ lawyers wrote, adding that the press conference was broadcast on Instagram, promoting a hotline that received 12,000 calls within 24 hours.

The letter continued, "These claims have fueled a media frenzy that threatens to undermine Mr. Combs' right to a fair trial, with many of the accusations already proven false, yet still causing irreparable damage to his reputation."

Combs, arrested by Homeland Security in Manhattan on September 16, faces federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
